Once again, Admiral are pleased to be sponsoring the World Cruising Club’s ARC Rally and members of the team were present in Las Palmas Marina during the busy rally preparation period in November. The ARC and ARC+ Rallies provide cruising and racing support to the Caribbean.
Dave Andrew from our Underwriting team met with most of the 30+ participants covered by Admiral Insurance, ensuring that their cover was up-to-date and reflected any recent changes to plans.
Following Dave’s visit, Robert Holbrook our MD and Bob Samuels our Claims Manager, completed the review with Robert providing advice on must–see Caribbean destinations and hurricane layup locations. It was a particularly welcome chance to meet with Admiral policy-holders doing the ARC for the first time.
Jerry the Rigger was on hand to provide aloft safety checks of masts and rigging and found a range of issues requiring attention, including a cracked boom and several shattered aluminium spreader castings. Jerry has been providing Admiral’s ARC Rally participants with complimentary rig checks for many years and this risk reduction activity is much appreciated by those venturing out into the Atlantic.
Admiral were happy to host one of the ever popular Sundowners which are an essential part of the ARC social scene, providing the multi-national participants with a chance to get together and enjoy a complimentary drink or two. It was the perfect occasion for meeting up with old friends and making new ones.
WCC events provide rally participants with an opportunity of a lifetime and Admiral wish them all a safe and fulfilling sailing experience.
